Across recruitment, training and delivery we have a robust safeguarding culture, designed to ensure that any concerns are acted on immediately, with support from appropriate agencies where necessary. All Sound Lab tutors and volunteers undergo PVG checks via Disclosure Scotland; all tutors also complete dedicated NSPCC training on child protection for tutors. Annual refresher training helps to ensure that tutors are confident in setting professional boundaries and recognising signs of abuse.
The Designated Child Protection Lead at The Sound Lab is Rollo Strickland, who has overall organisational responsibility for managing concerns about the safety and welfare of children and young people. Rollo has completed Designated Child Protection Lead training, delivered by the NSPCC.
